Clara Marie (Thieme) Strumpler Obituary
Clara Marie Strumpler, nee Thieme, daughter of Andrew and Sophie Klein
Thieme, was born on January 1,. 1871 at Decatur,k Illinois,  In infancy she
training and teaching, she renewed her baptismal vows through confirmation.
At the age of 6 she come to Thayer County, Nebraska with her parents.  On
May 18, 1893, she was married to Herman H. Strumpler.  They made their
home at Hampton, Nebraska for the first 13 years of their wedded life.  This
union was blessed with 10 children,  Two sons died in infancy, a daughter,k
Emma, Mrs. Rudolph Bartels passed away in 1928; and another daughter
Mathilda, Mrs. Adolph Thurnau died in 1935.
In 1906 the Strumpler family moved to their farm 5 miles northwest of Hebron.
For 43 years the departed lived there enjoying the fruits of her honest and
noble calling and experiencing many special blessings
In 1949 Mr. and Mrs. Strumpler left the farm and lived in retirement for two
years, making their home with several of their children; and since 1950 the
departed lived in our Blue Valley Lutheran Home in Hebron.
On the 9thy of July the departed fell in her room and sustained minor injuries.
The shock in her advanced years brought on complications and she quietly
fell asleep on the evening of July 14.
Her husband preceded her in death in February of this Year.
Her close relatives that remain are: Amelia, Mrs. Walter Werner of Hebron;
Martin of Amherst, Colorado;  Hanna. Mrs. Herman Wuebbenhorst of Buhl,
Idaho; Herman of St. Louis, Missouri; Hilda, Mrs. Emil Malchow of Hebron;
and Erwin of Lincoln Nebraska; 27 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren,
3 brothers and 4 sisters also survive her.  She attained the age of 81 years, 6
months and 14 days.
Funeral Services were conducted by Pastor O. Reeg in Grace Lutheran
Church on July 18.  Irvin Gehle, Irvin Holtzen, Dennis Malchow, Norbert
Waldmeier, Eugene and Doyle Werner served as pallbearers.  Mrs, Martin
Hoops and Harold Werner sang: "Asleep in Jesus" and "Be Still, My Soul."
Interment was made in Rose Hill Cemetery.
