Sharon Kay SUMMANN Obituary
Sharon Kay Summann, 69, of rural Shobonier, passed away at 5:59 p.m. on Friday,
June 3, 2016, at her home. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday at
Fairlawn Cemetery in Vandalia, with the Rev. Robert Weaver officiating.
Memorials: The family or Unity Baptist Church in Vandalia. Hohlt and File
Funeral Home in Vandalia was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Summann was
born on Dec. 20, 1946, in Vandalia, the daughter of Jesse and Denise (Diveley)
Etchason. She married Wayne Summann on June 20, 1965, and together they
raised three sons. Sharon worked at Ron's Greenhouse in Shobonier for 35 years
and was a member of Unity Baptist Church, formerly First Baptist Church of
Vandalia, where she was active in the church choir and taught first-, second- and
third-grade Sunday School. She is survived by her husband; sons, Harold
Summann and his wife Aimee of Vandalia, Greg Summann and his wife Leslie of
Bullhead City, Ariz., and Steve Summann of Bluff City; sisters, Sandy and her
husband Merlin Roach, and Karen "Jeannie" and her husband Steve Brungard,
both of Vandalia; and seven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her
parents.
