Dear Uncle and all!
I take the feather in hand a letter to communicate to you. Share with you, that we are here all quite healthy and
lively, and hope the same also from you. It makes us happy, which we can speak soon verbally with you. On the
30 day of the month already from Stroehen, we travel and on 2 June we board the steamer Sydlitz. Our crates are
already sent, we have three crates, therein packed, one buffet and 1 wardrobe, the same are already by the
customs officer checked. Hereby will I close in hope for a glad reunion.

and Wilhelm were onboard the Seidlitz arriving in New York in June 1923)

Lieber Onkel und alle!
Ich nehme die Feder zur Hand um Euch einen Brief mitzuteilen. Tiele Euch mit, das wir hier alle recht gesund
und munter sind, und hoffen das selbige auch nah von Euch. Er freut uns, das wir bald mündlich mit Euch
sprechen können. Am 30 d. Mts werden wir schon von Ströhen, fahren und am 2 Juni mit Dampfer Sydlitz van
Bord. Unsern Kisten sind schon abgeschickt, wir haben drei Kisten, darin verpackt, ein Buffet und 1
Kleiderschrank, dieselben sind schon vom Zollbeamten nachgesehen. Hiermit wil ich schließen in der Hoffnung
auf ein frohes Viedersehn.
